Middle School Bible Teacher

Position: Middle School Bible Teacher

Responsible to: Middle School Principal

Hours: 10 month employee, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Required Qualifications:

● A deep faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and acceptance of the authority

of Scripture as a guide for faith and living

o Actively pursues spiritual growth through personal devotions, Bible study,

church involvement, etc.

● Understanding of and active support for The Christ School’s mission, vision, and

defining characteristics

● Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university

● Proficiency in GoogleSuite (docs, sheets, gmail, calendar)

● Highly effective verbal and written communication skills

● Understanding of and ability to deliver accommodations for students with

learning differences

● Professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of the job

● Able to effectively traverse possibly uneven ground

● Able to ascend/descend multiple flights of stairs and transport about 10-15

pounds

The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in education or Bible and at least 5

years of experience, preferably in an independent, Christian school.

General Responsibilities:

● High-Quality Instruction:

Deliver engaging, biblically grounded lessons aligned with The Christ School’s

Bible curriculum and academic standards. Incorporate effective instructional

strategies that nurture biblical literacy, interpretive skills, and spiritual

understanding. Encourage thoughtful connections between Scripture and

students’ lives.

● Student Engagement:

Foster a Christ-centered classroom environment that inspires curiosity about

God’s Word and active participation in learning. Encourage meaningful

discussion, personal reflection, and application of biblical truths through creative

and critical thinking activities.

● Assessment and Evaluation:

Use a variety of formative and summative assessments to evaluate student

progress in knowledge, character, and spiritual growth. Provide constructive,

grace-filled feedback that supports both academic understanding and faith

development.

● Learning Environment:

Establish and maintain clear expectations that promote respect, empathy, and

accountability. Create a nurturing space where students feel safe to explore

Scripture, ask questions, and grow in their relationship with Christ.

● Model Christ-Centered Behavior:

Demonstrate a vibrant and authentic faith through words and actions. Integrate

biblical principles and a Christian worldview into all aspects of teaching and

classroom life. Serve as a role model of integrity, humility, and compassion for

students, families, and colleagues.

● Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with middle school faculty and across disciplines to weave

biblical perspectives into all areas of learning. Partner with colleagues to share

best practices, support student development, and ensure curricular alignment.

● Parent Partnership:

Maintain open and consistent communication with parents regarding student

progress, classroom experiences, and spiritual formation. Build positive,

faith-based relationships that reinforce the home-school partnership in guiding

students toward Christlike maturity.

● Professional Growth:

Engage in ongoing professional and spiritual development to strengthen biblical

knowledge, teaching practice, and understanding of adolescent faith

development. Stay current with trends in Christian education and ministry.

● School Community Involvement:

Participate actively in chapel, advisory groups, service-learning projects, and

school-wide community events. Support The Christ School’s mission by

contributing to a joyful, vibrant community committed to academic excellence

and spiritual growth.
